Education Eligibility-
- PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education
- B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Karnataka TET Exam Pattern/KARTET Exam Syllabus-
- Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
- Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Paper-I Exam Topics and No. of Marks Details-
(I) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 Questions 30 Marks
(II) Language I 30 Questions 30 Marks
(III) Language II 30 Questions 30 Marks
(IV) Mathematics 30 Questions 30 Marks
(V) Environmental Studies 30 Questions 30 Marks
The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational
psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years.
In Language-I examiner will focus on the proficiency related to the
medium of instruction.
In language-II examiner will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the
concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the
subjects.
Paper II (for classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage Exam Syllabus & No. of Marks-
(I) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 Questions 30 Marks
(II) Language I (compulsory) 30 Questions 30 Marks
(III) Language II (compulsory) 30 Questions 30 Marks

Qualifying Marks for KARTET- 2016
The candidates appearing in KARTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate.
The candidates belonging to SC / ST / C-I, differently able persons should secure a minimum of 55% will be eligible etc., in accordance with their extent reservation policy.
KARTET Important Instructions-
- All candidates are allowed to enter in the exam hall 15 minutes before the exam.
- Candidate will then write particulars with Blue/Black ball point pen only on OMR Answer Sheet. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited.
- Use of Calculater and other electronic gadgets are not allowed in the Exam Centre.
- Use of unfair means wil be treated as cancellation of Exam.
- The medium of question paper shall be both in English and Kannada
